Tips for scannable QR codes

Contrast matters most. Dark modules on a light background scan fastest. Fancy low-contrast color pairs look nice but fail in bad lighting.

Size for the medium. On screen, 200 to 300 px is plenty. In print, use 400 px so edges stay crisp. And leave quiet space around the code: the built-in margin handles that.

Test before you print. Scan the code with two different phones at the distance people will actually use it.

QR code generator FAQs

Is the QR code free for commercial use?
Yes. QR codes you generate here are yours to use anywhere: packaging, flyers, menus, business cards or websites. No watermark, no account.
What is error correction level?
It controls how much damage a QR code survives while staying scannable. Level H keeps working with up to 30% of the code obscured, which is what you want if you place a logo in the middle.
What size should I download?
For screens, 200 to 300 px is plenty. For print, go to 400 px or larger so the modules stay sharp. The PNG download renders at the size you set.
Is my text or URL sent to a server?
No. The QR code is generated entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type leaves this page.
