When to use each style

  • Title Case: headlines, headings, book and video titles.
  • Sentence case: normal prose, and the style most design systems prefer for UI labels.
  • UPPERCASE: short labels, warnings, acronyms. Whole paragraphs in caps read as shouting.
  • lowercase: usernames, hashtags, aesthetic captions.
  • aLtErNaTiNg: memes and playful emphasis. Use responsibly.

How conversion works

Title Case lowercases everything first, then capitalizes the first letter of each word. Sentence case capitalizes the first letter after each period, exclamation or question mark. Alternating flips case on every letter, skipping spaces and punctuation so the rhythm stays readable.

Case converter FAQs

What is Title Case?
Title Case capitalizes the first letter of each word, as in headlines: "The Quick Brown Fox". It is the standard style for titles and headings.
What is Sentence case?
Sentence case capitalizes only the first letter of each sentence, like normal writing: "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog."
When should I use UPPERCASE?
UPPERCASE works for short labels, warnings and acronyms, but whole paragraphs in caps are harder to read and read as shouting online. Use it sparingly.
Is my text uploaded to a server?
