What moves your CPC

CPC rises with competition for the same audience or keywords, and falls with higher ad relevance: platforms reward ads people engage with by charging less per click. Better creative and tighter targeting are the cheapest ways to cut CPC.

CPC is only half the story

A $0.20 CPC with a 0.5% conversion rate costs $40 per customer; a $1.00 CPC with a 10% conversion rate costs $10. Always read CPC together with conversion rate, which gives you CPA.

CPC Calculator FAQs

How do you calculate CPC?
Divide ad spend by clicks. $400 spend for 800 clicks is a $0.50 average CPC.
What is a good CPC?
It depends on the channel and niche: search ads often cost $1 to $5+, social $0.30 to $2. Judge it against your conversion rate, not against other industries.
Why is my CPC so high?
Usually narrow targeting, low ad relevance scores, or bidding on competitive keywords. Broaden the audience, refresh creative, and improve landing page relevance.
Average CPC vs max CPC?
Max CPC is the bid ceiling you set; average CPC is what you actually paid per click, shown here. Average should sit at or below your max bid.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. Every calculation happens in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you enter leaves your device.
