The four safe areas

YouTube crops one banner per device. TV shows the full 2560x1440. Desktop shows a 2560x423 band. Tablet narrows to 1855x423. Mobile, the strictest, shows only the center 1546x423. Anything important must live inside that red mobile box.

The preview is scaled to half size for speed, but the download renders your art at the full 2560x1440 YouTube recommends, using cover-fit so there are no empty bars.

What size should a YouTube banner be?
2560 x 1440 pixels, under 6 MB. YouTube scales it down for each device, so design at full size for sharpness.
What is the safe area?
The center 1546 x 423 px region visible on every device, including phones. Keep channel name, logo, and taglines inside it.
Why does my banner look cut off on mobile?
Phones show only the middle 1546 px. Text placed near the edges is cropped on mobile but visible on TV.
What file type should I upload to YouTube?
PNG or JPG under 6 MB. This tool exports PNG; convert to JPG if you exceed the size limit.
Is my banner uploaded anywhere?
