Why low frequencies work

Water clings inside the speaker grille by surface tension. Low bass tones swing the speaker cone through its widest motion, and the rapid air pulses break droplets loose so gravity pulls them out. The 165 Hz steady tone is the classic ejection frequency; sweeps cover more of the cone's range.

What to expect

You may see droplets spit from the grille during the cycle, that is the goal. Sound often stays slightly muffled for a few minutes after; run a second cycle if needed and let the phone air-dry fully before charging.

Speaker Water Ejector FAQs

Will this fix a water-damaged phone?
It helps expel water from the speaker grille, which fixes muffled sound. It cannot repair corrosion or damage to internal components; power the phone off if it was submerged.
Should volume be at maximum?
Yes, within reason. Stronger cone motion ejects more water. Stop if you hear harsh distortion, which means the speaker is overdriven.
How many cycles should I run?
One to three. Wipe visible water between cycles and give the phone a few minutes between runs.
Can I charge right after?
No. Make sure the charging port is fully dry first; charging a wet port risks short circuits.
Does this work on any phone?
Yes. It uses the Web Audio API in the browser, so it works on iPhone and Android without installing an app.
