Shapes it handles

Rectangle for standard rooms, L-shape as two rectangles added together, circle for round rooms and towers, and triangle for attics and corners. Enter measurements in meters or feet; every result is shown in both m² and ft².

Perimeter is included for baseboard and trim estimates.

Paint math

Wall and ceiling paint covers roughly 10 m² per liter per coat. The estimate multiplies your floor area by the number of coats and divides by coverage, so two coats on 20 m² needs about 4 liters.

Buy 10% extra for touch-ups. Dark colors over light walls may need a third coat.

Room Area Calculator FAQs

How do I measure an L-shaped room?
Split it into two rectangles in your head, measure each one's length and width, and enter both. The tool adds the areas together.
How much paint do I need for a 20 m² room?
At 10 m² per liter per coat, two coats need about 4 liters. The calculator does this live from your exact area and coat count.
Is the triangle perimeter exact?
It assumes a right triangle (base and height perpendicular). For other triangles measure all three sides and add them manually.
Can I enter feet?
Yes. Switch the unit to feet and enter all measurements in feet; results are still shown in both m² and ft².
Does this include walls or just the floor?
Just the floor area. For wall paint, measure each wall's width times ceiling height and add them, or run the rectangle twice with wall dimensions.
