What this SVG actually is

The SVG produced here is a wrapper: your PNG pixels are embedded as a data URL inside an image tag. It opens and scales like any SVG, which satisfies upload forms and icon systems that only accept .svg files.

Limits to know

Because the content stays raster, enlarging the SVG far beyond the original PNG size will soften the picture. For true infinitely scalable art you need vector paths, which this conversion does not create.

PNG to SVG FAQs

Is this a true vector conversion?
No. The PNG image is embedded as data inside an SVG wrapper, so it displays and scales like an SVG file but remains raster pixels underneath. True vector tracing is not performed.
Why would I want PNG inside an SVG?
Some platforms, icon systems and design tools only accept SVG uploads. This wrapper lets you use a PNG image wherever an SVG file is required.
Will the SVG scale without losing quality?
It scales without breaking layout, but since the content is raster pixels it will soften if enlarged far beyond the original PNG dimensions.
Can I edit the SVG in a vector editor?
You can open it in tools like Inkscape or Illustrator and move or resize the embedded image, but you cannot edit it as vector paths.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser with local code. Your files never leave your device.
