Why PDFs become images

Sometimes you need a page as a picture: for a thumbnail, a slide, or an app that cannot read PDFs. Rendering the first page to PNG gives you a flat, shareable snapshot of the document.

What happens when you convert

The PDF is opened with a local PDF engine and its first page is painted onto a canvas at double scale for sharpness, then saved as PNG. Text becomes part of the image and is no longer selectable.

Which page gets converted?
The first page of the PDF is rendered to PNG. Multi-page documents convert page one only.
What resolution is the output?
The page is rendered at 2x scale, so a standard letter page becomes roughly 1700 by 2200 pixels, sharp enough for most uses.
Is the PNG text selectable?
No. The page becomes a flat image, so text cannot be selected or copied from the PNG file.
What about password-protected PDFs?
Encrypted PDFs cannot be opened here. Remove the password first, then convert.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser with local code. Your files never leave your device.
