How it works
Pick an image and its dimensions load into the width and height fields. Change either side (with Lock aspect ratio on, the other follows), choose PNG or JPG, then press Resize and Download. The resized image draws to a canvas and downloads with a -resized suffix.
Resizing tips
Keep the lock on unless you want a stretched or squashed image on purpose.
Resize down from a bigger original for the sharpest result.
PNG for graphics and transparency, JPG for smaller photo files.
Match the exact pixel size a platform asks for, e.g. 1080 x 1080 for a square post.
Keep Lock aspect ratio checked and change only the width or only the height. The other dimension updates automatically, so the picture never stretches.
Should I download as PNG or JPG?
Use PNG for graphics, screenshots and anything with transparency. Use JPG for photos, where the quality slider lets you trade a little detail for a much smaller file.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. Resizing happens in your browser with the Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device.
Does resizing make the image bigger than the original?
You can enter larger dimensions, but upscaling adds no real detail and the file usually gets bigger. For best quality, resize down from a larger original.
What happens to transparency when I pick JPG?
JPEG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white before the JPG is exported.
