How the background changer works

Your image is drawn onto a canvas in your browser. When white knockout is on, every near-white pixel is made transparent, then the canvas is filled with your chosen color behind the subject. The result downloads as a PNG. No uploads, no queues, no watermarks.

When knockout works best

White knockout shines on logos, icons and product photos shot on a clean white background. Photos with busy or off-white backgrounds may leave halos; raise the tolerance slider gradually until the background disappears without eating into the subject.

Which image formats can I upload?
Anything your browser can display: PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF and more. The download is always a PNG so transparency and quality are preserved.
Can it remove a non-white background?
The knockout targets near-white pixels only. For colored or busy backgrounds it will not cut the subject out; it is designed for white-background product shots and logos.
Why does my subject have a white halo?
Anti-aliased edges blend the subject into the background, leaving a faint fringe. Lower the tolerance slider to keep more edge pixels, or pick a background color close to the original to hide the fringe.
What is the maximum image size?
There is no fixed limit, but very large photos (over ~20 megapixels) can be slow on older phones because every pixel is processed in memory.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The whole edit happens on a canvas in your tab, and the download is generated locally. Your image never touches a server.
