How it works

Enter the furniture's three dimensions and your doorway's width and height. The tool sorts the item's sides, checks whether the two smaller sides pass through the door flat, and if not, tests diagonal tilting using the doorway's diagonal length. You get a plain verdict: fits flat, fits tilted with care, or will not fit.

Measure right

Measure the narrowest point of the doorway including the frame, not the door leaf. Remember legs, armrests and packaging add centimeters, and the hallway corners and stair turns on the way in matter just as much as the front door.

Furniture Fit Calc FAQs

Should I measure the door or the frame?
The frame opening with the door open: that is the narrowest point the furniture must pass. Include any trim that sticks out.
What does fits tilted mean?
The item cannot go through flat, but angling it across the doorway's diagonal gives enough clearance. It needs careful maneuvering and ideally two people.
Do I need to account for packaging?
Yes. Boxes and wrapping add a few centimeters on every side. Measure the packaged item if it ships in a box.
What about hallways and stairs?
Just as important. Measure every narrow turn on the delivery path, including stairwell corners and elevator doors, not only the front door.
Is this calculator free?
Yes, completely free with no sign-up, running entirely in your browser.
