How it computes

Distance is converted to kilometers, then fuel is derived from your efficiency unit: L/100km multiplies directly, km/L divides, and MPG converts through gallons. Round trip doubles everything. Cost is fuel times price.

Which efficiency unit should I use?
Whatever your car reports: L/100km in most of the world, MPG in the US, km/L in parts of Asia. All three give the same answer.
Does it include tolls or wear?
No. It covers fuel only. Add tolls, parking and maintenance separately for a full trip budget.
Why is the estimate off from my trip?
Traffic, hills, AC use and driving style move real consumption 10-20% from rated efficiency. Add a buffer for mountain routes.
Per liter or per gallon for price?
