What each slider does

Brightness shifts every pixel lighter or darker. Contrast widens or narrows the gap between shadows and highlights, adding punch. Saturation controls color intensity, from black-and-white at -100 to vivid at +100. They combine, so small moves on each beat one big move.

Preview vs download

The preview is a downscaled copy for speed, but the download re-renders your adjustments at the photo's full original resolution, so nothing is lost.

Brightness Adjuster FAQs

Can this fix a photo that is too dark?
Often yes. Raise brightness to about +30 and add +10 to +20 contrast. If the photo is extremely underexposed, details lost to pure black cannot be recovered.
Why does my photo look washed out after raising brightness?
Brightness alone lifts shadows and highlights together. Add a little contrast afterward to restore depth between light and dark areas.
What download format is better, PNG or JPEG?
PNG is lossless and best for graphics or further editing. JPEG makes much smaller files for photos and is fine for sharing.
Is there a limit on photo size?
No hard limit, but photos over 6000 px wide may feel slow on older phones. The preview is capped at 1200 px for smoothness.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Adjustments run through the canvas filter API in your browser only.
