Why convert AVIF to PNG?
AVIF is efficient but not universal. Older browsers, many desktop apps and some printers cannot open AVIF, while PNG works almost everywhere.
Will I lose quality?

What if my browser cannot open the AVIF?

Are AVIF files really that much smaller?
Yes. AVIF is often 50 percent smaller than JPG at similar quality, which is why converting back to PNG usually produces a bigger file.
