What you get

Every distinct word in your text is counted and ranked, with its raw count and its share of the analyzed words. The bar column makes it easy to spot at a glance which terms dominate the text.

Toggle the common-words filter to hide filler like the, and, and of, which reveals the real content keywords underneath. Density percentages help with SEO checks for keyword stuffing.

How words are counted

Text is lowercased and split on anything that is not a letter or digit, so Hello, hello, and HELLO count as one word. Hyphenated terms split into parts, and possessives keep their apostrophe.

Minimum word length lets you drop single letters and noise from the ranking without touching the source text.

Word Frequency FAQs

What is keyword density and why does it matter?
Density is how often a word appears relative to the total. SEOs watch it to avoid overusing a keyword, which can look spammy to search engines.
Why are common words excluded by default?
Words like the and and always top raw counts but carry no meaning. Filtering them surfaces the topical words you actually care about.
Is the count case-sensitive?
No. Everything is lowercased first, so Word and word are counted together.
How are hyphenated words handled?
Hyphens act as separators, so state-of-the-art counts as four separate words. This matches how most word counters behave.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. Counting happens entirely in your browser, so private documents and drafts never leave your device.
