How it works

Press Start camera and approve the browser's permission prompt. Your live video appears in the preview, mirrored like a selfie camera by default (toggleable). You can switch between multiple cameras, take a snapshot at full camera resolution, and download it as a PNG. Stopping the camera releases it immediately.

Privacy

The video stream goes from your camera straight to this page's video element. It is never uploaded, recorded on a server, or accessible to anyone else. Closing the tab or pressing Stop ends the stream entirely.

Why is my camera not working?
Most often the permission was denied, or another app is using the camera. Allow access in the browser prompt, close other apps using the camera, and try again.
Does this work on phones?
Yes, on modern mobile browsers over HTTPS. You may be asked to choose between the front and rear cameras.
Is my video recorded or uploaded?
No. The stream stays between your camera and this page. Snapshots are created locally and only downloaded if you press the button.
Why is the preview mirrored?
Selfie-style mirroring feels natural while previewing. Untick the mirror box for a true-to-life view; snapshots follow the same setting.
Why do I need HTTPS?
Browsers only allow camera access on secure pages (or localhost) to protect your privacy.
