What counts as valid

A URL must parse with the browser's URL parser, have a real hostname, and (in strict mode) use http or https. The tool also flags whitespace, control characters, unencoded special characters and dotless hostnames that usually indicate a typo.

Component breakdown

Each URL is dissected into protocol, host, port, path and query parameter count, so you can audit redirect chains, tracking parameters and malformed links at a glance across a whole list.

URL Validator FAQs

Why did my URL fail?
Most failures are typos: spaces, missing dots, or characters like { } that must be percent-encoded. The issue list names the exact problem.
Can it check if the link is alive?
No. Browsers block cross-site requests, so a client-side tool cannot ping arbitrary URLs. This validates format, not reachability.
What about URLs without a protocol?
https:// is assumed, so example.com validates as https://example.com. The breakdown shows the assumed form.
How many URLs can I check?
Up to 200 per paste, each validated instantly.
Are my URLs uploaded?
No. Validation runs entirely in your browser.
