What gets extracted

The parser splits a URL into protocol, optional credentials, hostname, port, path, query string and fragment, then decodes every query parameter into a readable key-value table. Percent-encoded characters like %20 are shown as their real values, which makes debugging tracking parameters and API calls much easier.

Built on the browser URL engine

Parsing uses your browser's native URL implementation, the same engine that powers the address bar, so edge cases like default ports, international domain names and unusual schemes are handled correctly. If you paste a URL without a scheme, https:// is assumed.

URL Parser FAQs

What is the difference between host and hostname?
Hostname is just the domain (example.com). Host is the domain plus the port when one is present (example.com:8080). The parser shows both so you can see exactly what differs.
Are query parameters URL-decoded?
Yes. Percent-encoded sequences are decoded to their real characters in the parameter table, so %20 shows as a space.
Why is the password shown as hidden?
URLs can technically carry credentials (user:pass@host), but displaying passwords on screen is a bad idea, so the tool masks them while still confirming they exist.
Can it parse relative URLs like /path/page?
Not directly, because relative URLs need a base to resolve against. Paste the full absolute URL instead.
Is the URL I paste sent anywhere?
No. Parsing runs entirely in your browser and nothing is logged or transmitted.
