How the conversion works

Paste your TOML on the left and press Convert. The tool first parses the TOML (reading tables, arrays of tables, dotted keys and basic value types) into an internal table of rows and columns, then writes it out as XLSX (showing a CSV preview and building a real .xlsx workbook on download). If the input cannot be parsed you get a plain-English error instead of a broken file.

Where this comes in handy

People reach for this converter when moving app configuration or dataset files out of TOML and the result must open in Excel or Google Sheets. Because everything runs locally in your browser, it is also handy for quick one-off migrations without installing database tools or writing throwaway scripts.

TOML to XLSX FAQs

What TOML features does the parser support?
Tables, arrays of tables, dotted keys, strings, integers, floats, booleans, arrays and inline tables are supported. Dates are kept as plain text, which keeps round-trips predictable.
How are TOML tables turned into rows?
Each entry of an array of tables, like [[members]], becomes one row and the keys inside become columns. Nested tables are flattened into JSON text inside their cell so no data is lost.
Which library builds the file?
SheetJS (xlsx), loaded from a CDN, builds a genuine .xlsx workbook with one sheet named Sheet1, compatible with Excel, Google Sheets and LibreOffice.
Does the download work offline?
The conversion itself runs locally, but the SheetJS library loads from a CDN, so the first download needs a connection. After that it is cached by your browser.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. Parsing and conversion run entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Your data never leaves your device.
