How the conversion works

Paste your TOML on the left and press Convert. The tool first parses the TOML (reading tables, arrays of tables, dotted keys and basic value types) into an internal table of rows and columns, then writes it out as JSONL (writing one compact JSON object per line). If the input cannot be parsed you get a plain-English error instead of a broken file.

Where this comes in handy

People reach for this converter when moving app configuration or dataset files out of TOML and line-delimited JSON is needed for data pipelines. Because everything runs locally in your browser, it is also handy for quick one-off migrations without installing database tools or writing throwaway scripts.

TOML to JSONL FAQs

How are TOML tables turned into rows?
Each entry of an array of tables, like [[members]], becomes one row and the keys inside become columns. Nested tables are flattened into JSON text inside their cell so no data is lost.
Can I paste a whole Cargo.toml or pyproject.toml file?
Yes. Paste the complete file and convert. Dependency lists, metadata tables and tool settings each become tidy rows you can open in a spreadsheet.
How is each line structured?
Each line is one compact JSON object. For table inputs the keys are the column names; for document inputs like TOML each line holds one nested object.
What is JSONL good for?
JSON Lines, one JSON object per line, streams nicely into BigQuery, pandas, Elasticsearch and log pipelines without loading a whole array.
Is there a size limit?
No hard limit, but very large pastes (tens of megabytes) can slow down the browser tab. For huge inputs, split them into smaller chunks.
