Not recording.

Private by design: the recording stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded or stored online.

How browser screen recording works

The tool uses the getDisplayMedia API: your browser shows its native picker where you choose a tab, window or entire screen. Recording then runs locally with a live timer until you stop.

Output is WebM video at a healthy 5 Mbps bitrate, previewable on the page and downloadable immediately. No software install and no account needed.

Audio and quality notes

System audio capture depends on the browser and platform: Chrome on desktop usually offers tab audio when you share a tab. Microphone narration is not mixed in by this tool; record voice separately for voiceovers.

Long recordings grow large, roughly 35 MB per minute at the default bitrate. Keep captures focused, and close heavy apps for smoother frame rates.

Screen Recorder FAQs

Which browsers support this?
Chrome, Edge and Firefox on desktop. Safari support is limited and mobile browsers generally cannot capture the screen this way.
Can I record with my microphone too?
This tool captures screen video, optionally with system/tab audio. For narration, record audio separately and combine in an editor.
What format is the download?
WebM (VP9/VP8). It plays in modern browsers and converts easily to MP4 with free tools like Handbrake or FFmpeg.
Why is my recording choppy?
Screen capture is CPU-heavy. Close extra tabs and apps, lower the captured window size, and avoid 4K capture on modest machines.
Is my screen uploaded anywhere?
No. Capture and encoding happen entirely on your device.
