How it works

Click the buttons or type directly into the expression box: sin, cos, tan and their inverses, log base 10, natural log, square and cube roots, powers with ^, parentheses, the constants pi and e, and ANS to reuse your last answer. Switch between degrees and radians for trigonometry. Every result is added to a history list so you can review your work.

Safe evaluation

Instead of running your input as raw code, the calculator whitelists allowed characters and maps function names to real math routines before evaluating. Unknown text is rejected, so a typo gives you an error message rather than a surprise.

Scientific Calculator FAQs

How do I calculate sin(30)?
Make sure Degrees is selected, then type sin(30) or press the sin( button, type 30), and press =.
What is the difference between log and ln?
log is base-10 logarithm, ln is the natural logarithm (base e). Both are on the keypad.
How do I enter powers like 2 to the 8th?
Type 2^8 and press =. The x^y button inserts the ^ operator, and x^2 squares the current value.
What does ANS do?
It inserts your last answer into the current expression, handy for multi-step calculations without retyping numbers.
Why did I get an error?
Usually a typo: unmatched parentheses, two operators in a row, or a function name misspelled. Fix the expression and try again.
