What gets removed

Pictographic emoji, multi-person ZWJ sequences like family emoji, regional-indicator flags, keycap sequences like 1 with a keycap, and variation-selector forms. Regular punctuation and text symbols are preserved.

Why strip emojis

Emoji break fixed-width layouts, pollute keyword analysis, and can corrupt legacy systems and CSV imports. Stripping them gives you clean plain text for processing and storage.
