How it works

Fill in the eight sections: project name, client, objective, target audience, deliverables (one per line), timeline, budget, and notes. Press Generate brief and the tool assembles a clean Markdown document with proper headings and bullet lists, dated automatically. Copy it into Notion, Google Docs or email, or download it as a .md file.

Writing a good brief

The objective is the most important line: one sentence saying what success looks like. List deliverables concretely ("homepage mockup", not "design stuff"), name what is out of scope in the notes, and put real dates in the timeline. A brief everyone signs off on prevents most project arguments before they start.

Project Brief FAQs

What should a project brief include?
At minimum: the objective, the audience, concrete deliverables, timeline and budget. This template covers all five plus client, notes and constraints.
What format is the output?
Markdown with headings and bullet lists. It pastes cleanly into Notion, Google Docs, GitHub and most editors, and renders nicely anywhere Markdown is supported.
Can I download the brief?
Yes, as a .md file named after your project. The Copy button grabs the text for pasting elsewhere.
Is this for client work or internal projects?
Both. Agencies use briefs to align with clients; teams use them to align with each other. The structure works either way.
Is my brief data uploaded anywhere?
No. The document is assembled in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.
