The three formats

National is how the number is dialed inside the country, with trunk prefix and local grouping. International adds the country code with a plus sign for human reading. E.164 is the machine format, plus sign followed by digits only, max 15 digits, used by APIs, SMS gateways and WhatsApp.

Copy E.164 whenever a form or API asks for a phone number.

Validation limits

Validation checks digit counts against each country's common lengths, but numbering plans have exceptions: area codes, premium numbers and new ranges can all break simple rules. Treat a warning as check this, not as definitely wrong.

What is E.164 format?
The international standard for phone numbers: a plus sign followed by the country code and subscriber number with no spaces, max 15 digits. APIs and SMS services expect this format.
Why strip the leading zero for international format?
The leading zero is a trunk prefix used only for domestic dialing. International format replaces it with the country code, so 0812... becomes +62 812... for Indonesia.
My number shows a length warning. Is it wrong?
Not necessarily. The check covers common lengths, but special ranges and new allocations can differ. Verify against your carrier if the number is real and important.
Which countries are supported?
Twelve: US/Canada, UK, Indonesia, India, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, Brazil, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines.
Is my phone number uploaded?
