What the HTML looks like

Each PDF page becomes a section with a heading, and text lines become paragraphs. The output is plain semantic HTML with no inline styling, so you can drop it into any site or restyle it with your own CSS.

Complex layouts such as multi-column pages, tables, and footnotes are flattened into reading order, which keeps the text usable but not pixel-identical to the PDF.

When it works best

The converter reads the PDF text layer, so digitally created PDFs convert cleanly. Scanned documents that are just images of pages contain no text to extract and will produce empty sections.

Images, charts, and vector graphics are not carried over; only the text content is converted.

PDF to HTML FAQs

Will the HTML look exactly like my PDF?
No. The tool extracts text and structure, not the visual layout. You get clean semantic HTML that is easy to restyle, not a pixel-perfect replica.
What happens to images in the PDF?
Images are skipped. Only text content is converted, so charts, photos, and scanned pages will not appear in the output.
Why is my converted file empty?
The PDF probably has no text layer, which is common with scanned documents. Run it through OCR software first, then convert the OCR result.
Can I edit the HTML afterward?
Yes. The output is standard HTML with headings and paragraphs, so you can edit it in any text or code editor and style it with CSS.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Extraction and HTML generation happen entirely in your browser, so your documents stay on your device.
