How English number words work

The converter breaks the number into groups of three digits and names each group: ones, thousand, million, billion, trillion. Within a group it spells hundreds, then tens and ones, joining 21 to 99 with a hyphen, exactly as check-writing guides require.

How Indonesian terbilang works

Indonesian uses special forms: sebelas for 11, belas for 12 to 19, puluh for tens, seratus and seribu for 100 and 1000, then ribu, juta and miliar for the big groups. Zero is nol.

Number to Words FAQs

How do you write a number in words on a check?
Type the amount into the converter and copy the English result. Banks expect the spelled amount to match the digits, for example 1,250 becomes One thousand two hundred fifty. This tool formats it in that style.
What is terbilang in Indonesian?
Terbilang is the Indonesian convention of spelling numbers in words, used on invoices, receipts and official letters. Select Indonesian in the language box to get forms like seribu, juta and miliar.
Does it handle very large numbers?
Yes, up to 999 trillion in both languages. Beyond that the tool asks for a smaller number, since spelled forms get impractical on real documents.
Can it convert decimal numbers?
No, it converts whole numbers only, which is what checks and formal documents use. Round or truncate decimals before converting, or convert the integer part separately.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type leaves your device.
