How the CPS test works

Press start and click the pad as fast as possible for 5 seconds. The tool counts every mousedown, shows a live countdown, then divides total clicks by 5 for your clicks-per-second score. A rolling CPS figure is also shown outside tests, based on your clicks in the last 5 seconds.

Double-click and coordinates

Two clicks within 400 ms count as a double-click, which verifies your mouse button and your OS double-click speed setting agree. Every click also reports its x/y position inside the pad and which button was pressed, useful for testing mice and touchpads.

Mouse Click Tester FAQs

What is a good CPS score?
Most people score 4-7 CPS with a regular mouse. 8-10 is fast, and above 10 usually needs specialized clicking techniques like jitter or butterfly clicking.
Why do some clicks not register?
Very rapid clicking can exceed your mouse's debounce or USB polling rate, and some browsers throttle events under load. If clicks drop consistently, the mouse hardware may be the limit.
Can I test right-click and middle-click?
Yes. The pad reports which button was pressed for every click, and right-click menus are suppressed on the pad so they do not interrupt testing.
Does it work on touchscreens?
Partially. Taps register as clicks, so you can measure tap speed, but multi-touch and pressure data are not tracked.
How is double-click detected?
Any two clicks less than 400 ms apart increment the double-click counter, matching the typical OS default double-click speed.
