How the Markdown converter works

Type Markdown in the editor and the tool converts it to HTML as you type, using a built-in parser that runs entirely in your browser. Headings, bold, italic, inline code, fenced code blocks, links, ordered and unordered lists, blockquotes, horizontal rules and simple tables are all supported. Nothing is uploaded anywhere, so drafts stay private.

Using the preview and HTML output

The preview pane shows exactly how your Markdown will look when rendered, while the HTML box gives you clean markup you can paste into a CMS, email template or static site. Press Copy HTML to grab the markup in one click, or Load sample to see every supported syntax element in action.

Markdown Tools FAQs

Which Markdown syntax is supported?
Headings, bold, italic, strikethrough, inline and fenced code, links, ordered and unordered lists, blockquotes, horizontal rules and pipe tables. It covers the syntax most README files, docs and blog drafts actually use.
Can I use the generated HTML in my blog or CMS?
Yes. The HTML output is clean, standard markup with no inline styles, so it drops straight into WordPress, Ghost, Webflow embeds or any static site generator without extra cleanup.
Does the tool save or upload my text?
No. Conversion happens with JavaScript in your browser tab. Your Markdown is never sent to a server, stored, or logged anywhere.
Why do my tables need pipes on every row?
The parser detects tables by rows wrapped in pipe characters, like | Name | Role |. The second row of dashes and colons is optional, so a simple header plus data rows is enough.
The preview looks plain. Where is the styling?
The preview uses your browser's default rendering so the HTML stays portable. Paste the HTML into your own site or CMS and it will inherit that site's styles automatically.
