Small bundles, same safety

Valibot was designed for the bundle size conscious: instead of one monolithic import, you import each validator function separately. This tool generates those modular v.string(), v.number(), and v.object() calls directly from your JSON sample.

A drop in validation layer

Use the generated schema at API boundaries, form submissions, and config file loading. One parse call both validates untrusted input and produces a typed value your editor understands.

JSON to Valibot FAQs

What is Valibot?
Valibot is a modern, modular alternative to Zod for TypeScript validation. Its tree shakable design keeps bundles tiny because you only ship the validators you actually use.
Why choose Valibot over Zod?
Valibot schemas compile to much smaller JavaScript, which matters for client heavy apps. The API is similar, so switching is mostly a matter of import names.
How are optional fields handled?
Fields missing from some records are wrapped in v.optional(), so partial API responses validate cleanly without forcing every key to exist.
Does it infer nested objects?
Yes. Each nested object becomes its own schema constant built with v.object(), referenced by the parent, which keeps large payloads readable.
Can I derive TypeScript types from the schema?
Yes. Use v.InferOutput<typeof mySchema> to get the static type, giving you runtime validation and compile time types from a single definition.
