JSON to Rust Serde

Turn JSON into Rust structs with Serde derives. Get snake_case fields, serde renames, Option types, and Vec collections inferred automatically.

JSON input

Paste JSON, optionally name the root type, then generate.

Your Rust Serde struct code will appear here.

Zero boilerplate deserialization

Serde's derive macros write the parsing code for you at compile time, which is both fast and type safe. This generator produces the struct definitions, so you go from a sample payload to serde_json::from_str::(&text) in seconds.

Null safety by construction

Rust has no null, so uncertain JSON fields must become Option. The tool detects nulls and inconsistent keys across array items and wraps exactly those fields, keeping required data ergonomic and optional data explicit.

JSON to Rust Serde FAQs

What does the Serde derive do?
Adding #[derive(Serialize, Deserialize)] generates JSON serialization code at compile time, so serde_json::from_str can parse your JSON straight into the struct with zero manual mapping.
Why are some fields Option<T>?
Fields that are null or missing in some records become Option, which is Rust's explicit way of saying a value may be absent. This forces you to handle the missing case.
What are the serde rename attributes?
When a JSON key is not valid snake_case, the field gets #[serde(rename = "key")] so the Rust name stays idiomatic while the wire format is preserved.
How are arrays typed?
JSON arrays become Vec<T>, Rust's growable vector, with T inferred from the elements. Arrays of objects reference the generated nested struct.
Which crates do I need?
Add serde with the derive feature and serde_json to Cargo.toml. The generated code uses nothing else.
