JSON to Java Record

Convert JSON into concise Java records. Immutable data carriers with inferred component types, nested records, and List fields in one line each.

JSON input

Paste JSON, optionally name the root type, then generate.

Your Java record code will appear here.

One line per data shape

Records strip the getter and setter boilerplate down to a single declaration line. The generator maps each JSON object level to a record, so a whole API response becomes a handful of readable lines.

Immutability by default

Record components are final, which means parsed API data cannot be accidentally mutated downstream. For read heavy integrations this is a feature, not a limitation.

JSON to Java Record FAQs

What is a Java record?
Records, stable since Java 16, are compact immutable classes for data: you declare components once and the compiler generates the constructor, accessors, equals, hashCode, and toString.
When should I use a record instead of a POJO?
Use records for immutable data transfer objects like API responses. Use POJOs when you need setters, inheritance, or framework proxies that mutate state.
How are nested objects represented?
Each nested object becomes its own nested record type, keeping the one line per type compactness that makes records attractive.
How are optional fields handled?
Nullable fields use wrapper types like Integer and String, and Lists stay non null but may be empty, following common Jackson record conventions.
Which Java version do I need?
Records require Java 16 or newer, with Java 17 LTS being the common baseline. The syntax generated here works on all of them.
