JSON to INI

Convert JSON to INI free, in seconds. Paste your data below, press Convert, then copy the result and drop it into your app's settings file. Everything runs in your browser, so nothing is ever uploaded.

JSON input

Paste your JSON below, then press Convert.

Tip: arrays of objects convert best. A single object becomes one row.

INI output

Waiting for JSON input.

Private by design: conversion runs entirely in your browser with built-in code, so your data never leaves your device.

How this conversion works

Paste JSON into the input box and press Convert (or just keep typing, conversion happens as you type). The tool parses it with the browser's native JSON parser, then emits it as INI, turning nested objects into [sections]. Conversion runs entirely in your browser with built-in code, so your data never leaves your device.

INI limitations

INI has no nesting, so nested objects become [sections], with deeper levels joined by dots like [database.credentials]. A list of objects becomes numbered sections such as [item_1] and [item_2], while lists of plain values are joined with commas on one line. Values containing spaces or special characters are quoted automatically.

JSON to INI FAQs

Why convert JSON to INI?
INI is the classic config format for PHP applications, Python's configparser and many desktop tools. Converting flattens exported data into settings a program can read directly, without writing a custom parser.
How is my JSON parsed?
With the browser's native JSON parser, so even large documents convert fast. An array of objects becomes one row per object, a single object becomes a single row, and nested values are flattened with dot notation (for example contact.city).
INI has no nesting, so how are objects handled?
Nested objects become [sections], with deeper levels joined by dots like [database.credentials]. Scalar values stay at the top of the file or inside their section.
What about lists?
A list of objects becomes numbered sections such as [item_1] and [item_2]; lists of plain values are joined with commas on a single line.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. conversion runs entirely in your browser with built-in code, so your data never leaves your device.
