How the conversion works

Paste your HTML Table on the left and press Convert. The tool first parses the HTML Table (reading the first

element and using its th cells as column names) into an internal table of rows and columns, then writes it out as JSONL (writing one compact JSON object per line). If the input cannot be parsed you get a plain-English error instead of a broken file.

Where this comes in handy

People reach for this converter when reusing tables copied from web pages or documentation and line-delimited JSON is needed for data pipelines. Because everything runs locally in your browser, it is also handy for quick one-off migrations without installing database tools or writing throwaway scripts.

HTML Table to JSONL FAQs

Which table is converted if my paste has several?
The first <table> element in your paste is used. To convert a different one, paste only that table's HTML source.
What happens to merged cells with colspan or rowspan?
Merged cells are read as the plain text of each td or th in row order. The spanned layout is not reconstructed, so check that the column count looks right.
Is there a trailing newline at the end?
No. Lines are joined with newlines and there is no extra blank line at the end of the file.
How is each line structured?
Each line is one compact JSON object. For table inputs the keys are the column names; for document inputs like TOML each line holds one nested object.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. Parsing and conversion run entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Your data never leaves your device.
