How the conversion works

Paste your HTML Table on the left and press Convert. The tool first parses the HTML Table (reading the first

element and using its th cells as column names) into an internal table of rows and columns, then writes it out as CSV (quoting cells per RFC 4180). If the input cannot be parsed you get a plain-English error instead of a broken file.

Where this comes in handy

People reach for this converter when reusing tables copied from web pages or documentation and a spreadsheet-friendly file is needed. Because everything runs locally in your browser, it is also handy for quick one-off migrations without installing database tools or writing throwaway scripts.

HTML Table to CSV FAQs

What happens to merged cells with colspan or rowspan?
Merged cells are read as the plain text of each td or th in row order. The spanned layout is not reconstructed, so check that the column count looks right.
Can I paste a table copied from a website?
Yes, as long as you paste the actual HTML source with its <table> tags. A rich-text paste without markup will not be detected.
Does the CSV include a header row?
Yes. The first line holds the column names, followed by one line per data row.
How are commas inside cells handled?
Cells containing commas, quotes or line breaks are wrapped in double quotes per RFC 4180, so Excel and Google Sheets open the file cleanly.
Is there a size limit?
No hard limit, but very large pastes (tens of megabytes) can slow down the browser tab. For huge inputs, split them into smaller chunks.
