How it works

Pick a 2D or 3D shape, enter its dimensions, and press Calculate. The tool computes area and perimeter for flat shapes, or volume and surface area for solids, and shows the formula it used so you can check or reuse the math. Results are rounded to four decimal places.

Units

The calculator is unit-agnostic: enter centimeters and you get square centimeters and cubic centimeters; enter meters and you get square and cubic meters. Just keep every dimension in the same unit.

Which shapes are supported?
Square, rectangle, triangle, circle, trapezoid, cube, sphere, cylinder and cone: area and perimeter for flat shapes, volume and surface area for solids.
Why does the triangle need five inputs?
Area needs base and height; perimeter needs the three side lengths. Fill in whichever set matches what you want to compute.
What units does it use?
Whatever units you enter. Use the same unit for every dimension and the results come out in square or cubic versions of it.
How accurate are the results?
Results use full floating-point math and display rounded to four decimal places, which is plenty for homework, DIY and planning.
Is this free to use?
