How it works

Type the phrase to find and its replacement, then choose Replace all for the whole document or Replace first for a single change. Options include case-sensitive matching, whole-word matching (so "cat" does not match "catalog"), and full regular expressions for patterns like dates or emails. The match count tells you exactly how many replacements were made.

Chaining replacements

Use the "Use as input" button to feed the result back into the input box, so you can run several find-and-replace passes in a row: for example, first fix one term, then another, without copying between steps.

Find and Replace FAQs

What is the difference between Replace all and Replace first?
Replace all changes every match in the text. Replace first changes only the first occurrence, which is handy when you want to fix one instance manually and review the rest.
How do regular expressions work here?
Tick the Regular expression box and type a pattern like \d{4} to find four-digit years. The replacement can use $1, $2 and so on to reuse captured groups.
What does Whole words only do?
It adds word boundaries around your search term, so searching for "art" will not also replace the "art" inside "start" or "party".
Can I replace text across line breaks?
Yes. The search scans the entire text including newlines, and the replacement text can contain line breaks too.
Is my text sent to a server?
No. All matching and replacing happens in your browser, so your text stays on your device.
