Syntax checks

Each address is tested against practical email rules: exactly one @, valid characters, no leading/trailing or doubled dots, label lengths, and a plausible TLD. These catch typos like gmial or doubled dots, which a naive regex misses.

MX record check

With MX checking on, the domain is queried over DNS (via Cloudflare's DNS-over-HTTPS) for mail servers. A domain with no MX records cannot receive mail, so the address is almost certainly wrong or dead. Syntax alone cannot tell you that.

Email Validator FAQs

Does valid mean the inbox exists?
No. Syntax and MX checks confirm the address is well-formed and the domain accepts mail. Only sending an email (or an SMTP check) confirms a specific inbox.
Why bulk-check instead of one by one?
Cleaning signup lists and CSV exports is the main use: paste up to 200 addresses and spot the broken ones instantly.
Is the MX lookup private?
The domain (not the full address) is queried via Cloudflare DNS. The address list itself never leaves your browser.
What about plus-addressing like name+tag?
Valid. Plus signs are legal in the local part and pass the syntax check.
Can it verify without MX?
Yes. Turn MX off for pure syntax checking, which works offline.
