How the conversion works

The command is tokenized respecting single quotes, double quotes and line continuations, then flags like -X, -H, -d, -u and -A are mapped to fetch options. Headers become a headers object, the body is passed through, and basic auth is encoded as an Authorization header.

From terminal to frontend

API docs often show only cURL examples. Converting them to fetch gives you working frontend code in seconds, which is the fastest way to prototype an integration before wiring it into your app properly.

cURL to Fetch FAQs

Which cURL flags are supported?
-X/--request, -H/--header, -d/--data variants, -u/--user, -A/--user-agent, -k/--insecure and --url are parsed. Output, retry and progress flags are ignored since they have no fetch equivalent.
What if no method is given?
A command with -d defaults to POST, mirroring cURL behavior. Without a body it defaults to GET.
Is the request sent anywhere?
No. The tool only generates code text. Nothing is executed and no request leaves your browser until you run the code yourself.
Does it handle multipart uploads?
Multipart -F fields are not converted to FormData automatically. Build the FormData object manually from the parsed fields in the output.
Is my command uploaded?
No. Parsing runs entirely in your browser, so URLs, tokens and API keys in the command never leave your device.
