Both directions, done right

CSV to JSON uses the first row as keys and turns each following row into an object, respecting quoted fields that contain commas or line breaks. JSON to CSV collects every key across all objects so no column goes missing, and nested objects are serialized inline.

Values containing commas, quotes, or newlines are quoted and escaped per RFC 4180, so the output opens cleanly in Excel, Google Sheets, and any CSV parser.

Automatic direction detection

You do not need to pick a mode: input starting with [ or { is treated as JSON, everything else as CSV. After converting, copy the result or download it with the right file extension automatically.

Malformed input gets a plain-English error message pointing at the problem instead of a silent bad result.

CSV JSON Converter FAQs

How are commas inside CSV fields handled?
Fields wrapped in double quotes may contain commas, quotes (doubled), and line breaks. The parser follows RFC 4180 so spreadsheet exports convert correctly.
What if my JSON objects have different keys?
All unique keys across every object become columns. Objects missing a key get an empty cell in that column.
Can it convert nested JSON?
Yes. Nested objects and arrays are serialized as compact JSON strings inside their CSV cell, so no data is lost.
Does the first CSV row have to be a header?
Yes. The first row becomes the JSON keys, so make sure your CSV starts with a header row, not data.
Is my data uploaded to a server?
No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser, so sensitive datasets stay on your device.
