How the snippet works

The generated code shows a banner on first visit and hides it after the visitor clicks accept or decline. The choice is stored in a cookie for one year, so returning visitors are not asked again.

Paste the snippet just before the closing body tag of your pages. It needs no libraries and works on any static or dynamic site.

Customizing the notice

Write the message in your own words, match the button color to your brand, and pick a position that does not cover key content. A bottom bar is the least intrusive; corner boxes suit minimal designs.

Add your privacy policy URL to include a Learn more link. Remember: a banner alone does not make you compliant, it should reflect what your site actually does with cookies.

Where do I paste the snippet?
Just before the closing </body> tag on every page, or in your site footer template so it loads site-wide.
Does it block cookies before consent?
No. This is a notice and consent recorder, not a cookie blocker. You must still prevent non-essential scripts from loading until consent is given.
How long is the choice remembered?
One year, via a cookie-consent cookie with SameSite=Lax. Clearing cookies resets the banner.
Can I change the banner text later?
Yes. Regenerate the snippet with new wording and replace the old code on your site.
Does this make my site GDPR compliant?
It is one piece of compliance. You also need an accurate cookie policy and to actually respect the decline choice in your scripts.
