How it works

Pick visually with the color input, fine-tune with RGB sliders, or grab any pixel on your screen with the eyedropper. Every change updates the HEX, RGB and HSL codes instantly; click any code to copy it.

Save colors you like to the palette below, stored in your browser for next time.

Choosing the formats

HEX is the standard for CSS and design tools. RGB is friendlier when you need opacity (rgba). HSL is the most human: tweak hue to shift color, saturation for vividness, lightness for tints and shades.

The eyedropper needs Chrome or Edge; other browsers will show a clear message instead.

Color Picker FAQs

How do I copy a color code?
Click any of the HEX, RGB or HSL fields and the value copies to your clipboard automatically. A confirmation message shows what was copied.
What is the screen eyedropper?
A browser API that lets you pick any pixel visible on your screen, even outside the page. It is supported in Chrome and Edge; other browsers show a fallback message.
Are my saved swatches kept?
Yes, in your browser's local storage. Double-click a swatch to remove it. They stay on this device and are never uploaded.
When should I use HSL instead of HEX?
Use HSL when adjusting a color systematically: nudge lightness for hover states or tints, saturation for muted variants. HEX and RGB are better for exact reproduction.
Why do colors look different on other screens?
Displays vary in calibration, brightness and color gamut. For brand-critical work, verify on the target device and consider calibrated profiles.
