Two wrapping modes

Hard mode cuts the text every N characters no matter what, which is useful for fixed-width formats and data prep. Word-boundary mode packs whole words into lines up to N characters, keeping words intact for readable wrapped paragraphs.

Why wrap text manually

Some systems, from old terminals to CSV importers and subtitle formats, expect lines under a fixed length. Wrapping beforehand avoids mid-word cuts and rejected uploads.

Add Line Breaks FAQs

How do I add a line break every 50 characters?
Enter 50 in the interval box, paste your text, and click the button. Every 50 characters gets a newline. Change the number to any value from 1 to 10000.
What does the word-boundary option do?
Instead of cutting mid-word, it packs whole words into each line so no line exceeds your character limit. Long single words that exceed the limit stay on their own line.
Does it keep my existing line breaks?
In hard mode, existing breaks are treated as regular characters and new breaks are added by position. In word-boundary mode, all whitespace is normalized and lines are rebuilt from scratch.
Can I wrap code or data this way?
Yes. Hard mode is often used to wrap long encoded strings or logs at fixed widths for terminals and fixed-width file formats.
Is my text sent to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you paste ever leaves your device.
